This is an 11-day guided photography safari to Tanzania's northern circuit. We are with you from airport pick-up until your departure from Tanzania. We start the journey from the town of Arusha and make our way to the wild expanse of Tanzania's northern savanna where wildlife is rich and the scenes picturesque. Accommodation is mid-range lodges and tented camps outside and within the national parks. A licensed wildlife tracker and safari driver take us to unforgettable game drives aboard an extended 4-wheel drive Land Cruiser with a roof hatch, air-conditioning, refrigerator and USB charging ports. This is definitely an experience of a lifetime that you will never forget. Karibu Tanzania!​

DAY 1 - ARRIVAL IN ARUSHA

Pick-up from Kilimanjaro International Airport in Moshi. We spend one night in an eco-lodge in Usa River, which is about 40 minutes from the airport and steps away from Arusha National Park. A welcome dinner follows the safari briefing and orientation. You may enjoy a drink by the bonfire underneath the African skies before you retire for the night. A beautiful view of Mt. Meru, Tanzania's second highest mountain, greets you in the morning.

DAY 2 - TO TARANGIRE NATIONAL PARK

After breakfast we depart to Tarangire National Park, the sixth largest national park in Tanzania and famous for its high density of elephants and baobab trees. During the dry season (June to November) visitors could expect large herds of zebras, buffalo, elephants and wildebeest congregating along the Tarangire River. Resident animals include giraffe, waterbuck, impala, eland, gazelle, vervet monkey, mongoose, baboon, lion, leopard, and cheetah. The park is haven to bird watchers being it home to more than 500 species of birds. Aside from picturesque baobab trees scattered in the park, termite mounds also dot the landscape. We eat a picnic lunch inside the park and continue with game drive until sunset. We spend the evening in a tented camp inside Tarangire National Park itself.

DAY 3 - WHOLE DAY GAME DRIVE IN TARANGIRE NATIONAL PARK

We leave the tented camp at sunrise and go on an early morning game drive around the park. We return to camp at around 9:00 am for breakfast and relaxation. At around 11 am we leave the camp again with picnic lunch boxes for another round of game drives until sunset. We spend another evening in a tented camp inside the national park.

DAY 4 - FROM TARANGIRE TO NGORONGORO CRATER CONSERVATION AREA

After breakfast, we check-out of the camp and go on a half day game drive to other areas of the park that were not covered in the previous days. We exit the park at around 1:00 pm and drive to Ngorongoro Crater Conservation Area. We pass by a Maasai village along the way for a cultural experience and photo opportunities with the Maasai tribe of Manyara. We also pass by the crater view point for picture taking before we proceed to a lodge by the crater rim where we're spending the night. 

DAY 5 - NGORONGORO CRATER DESCENT AND TO CENTRAL SERENGETI

Early morning game drive down Ngorongoro Crater, a protected UNESCO world heritage site and known as the Eden of Africa. It is the world's largest intact caldera and the best place to see the Big 5 (lion, elephant, buffalo, leopard, rhinoceros). We eat a picnic breakfast by the hippo pool in between game drives. After we ascend the crater, we drive to Seronera in central Serengeti. We go on a late afternoon game drive around Seronera looking for big cats and a perfect spot to take stunning photos of the Serengeti sunset. We spend the night in a permanent tented camp in central Serengeti.

DAY 6 - SERENGETI NATIONAL PARK - SERONERA

Whole day game drive around Seronera. We start before sunrise to revel at the beauty of the northern savanna in the early mornings. We pass by the area where they operate hot air balloon safaris and you may take photos of the hot air balloons gracefully floating up the savanna sky. We go back to camp for late breakfast then game drive until sunset. We eat boxed lunch in one of the picnic areas in the bush. We spend another night in a permanent tented camp in central Serengeti.

DAY 7 - SERENGETI NATIONAL PARK - FROM SERONERA TO KOGATENDE

We check-out and leave camp after breakfast and drive towards Kogatende in the northeastern part of Serengeti to witness the Great Migration. Game viewing along the way and we eat a picnic lunch in the bush. Accommodation is a mobile tented camp that is 10 minutes drive from the Mara River.

DAY 8 - SERENGETI NATIONAL PARK - KOGATENDE

We leave camp at sunrise and go on an early morning game drive along the Mara River. We go back to camp at around 9 am for breakfast and short relaxation. We leave camp again with picnic lunch boxes to go on another round of game drive until sunset and watch out for a river crossing. We spend another night in a mobile tented camp that is 10 minutes away from the Mara River.

DAY 9 - SERENGETI NATIONAL PARK - HOT AIR BALLOON RIDE 

You leave camp at 5:30 am and drive to the hot air balloon launching site. The early morning hot air balloon flight will take you up the savanna skies where you'll be able to greet the sunrise aboard a basket. You'll have plenty of opportunity to take photos of wildlife and gorgeous landscapes from that unique point of view. There is champagne toast after landing and you'll be driven to a breakfast site where you'll complete the experience with a sumptuous meal in the middle of nowhere. You'll be driven back to camp at around 10 am where you'll have time to relax or take a nap. We leave camp again in the afternoon for another game drive along the Mara River.

DAY 10 - SERENGETI NATIONAL PARK AND FLIGHT TO ARUSHA

Optional early morning game drive before breakfast around Kogatende or just relax in the camp. Prepare for checkout and at mid-day we head to Kogatende airstrip to catch our flight back to Arusha town. This is your last night in Tanzania and accommodation is an eco-lodge in Arusha town.

DAY 11 - OPTIONAL ACTIVITIES AND DEPARTURE FROM ARUSHA 

Souvenir shopping at Massai market or public market in Arusha town, guided village walk to the waterfalls, horseback riding through coffee farms  and villages, or simply relax in your lodge. Transfer to Kilimanjaro International Airport, which is about 1.5 hours from Arusha town, for your evening flight to the US.

  • Driving in the parks is allowed between 6 am and 6 pm only.

  • The speed limit in the parks is 50km/h and 25km/h in the Ngorongoro Crater.

  • Animals always have the right of way.

  • Never feed animals. It will upset their diet and lead to an unnecessary dependence on people.
